On March 31, Eldorado Gold Québec celebrated its five years of commercial production. Since 2019, Eldorado Gold Québec has been at the heart of the Val d’Or community, shaping its future and contributing to the economic and social development of the region. On our fifth anniversary of commercial production, we are proud to share our achievements, our commitment to sustainability and our vision for the future.
Over the years, our company has grown steadily, while integrating responsible mining practices. We integrate sustainable development into every aspect of our operations to uphold our commitments to safe, inclusive and innovative operations, engaged and prosperous communities, a trusted operator and a healthy environment.
A COMMITTED AND MOBILIZED TEAM
Our team of committed and highly-skilled employees and contractors has been key to our success. Thanks to their dedication and expertise, we were able to achieve our goals and exceed expectations. Their hard work, creativity and team spirit have been the driving forces behind our achievements over the last five years. By working closely together and sharing a common vision, we were able to overcome the challenges and seize the opportunities that presented themselves to us. We are proud of our team and grateful for their invaluable contribution to our journey thus far. Their unwavering commitment to excellence will continue to inspire and guide us to new heights.
INNOVATION AS A LEVER FOR CHANGE
Innovation is the critical to how we operate our business. We have invested in research and development to stay at the cutting edge of the mining industry, increasing our operational efficiency while reducing our environmental footprint. In 2024, we are now partners in 2 research chairs, 2 university studies and several innovation development projects with companies in the region and elsewhere in Quebec.
Additionally, we have introduced technologies such as teleoperation and automation of underground equipment, telemetry and, more recently, electric ore transport trucks to improve production efficiency, health protection and the safety of our staff, but above all to mitigate our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
POSITIVE IMPACTS FOR THE COMMUNITY
As a member of the community, we are committed to contributing positively to our local environment. In fact, Eldorado Gold Québec has contributed to the creation of more than 700 direct and indirect jobs, local development and the establishment of various social initiatives. Over the years, more than $2.5 million has been granted in community investments. In addition, we strive to create sustainable business opportunities; more than $810 million has been invested in goods and services, 85% of which are made from Témiscabiti suppliers.
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
As we celebrate our first five years of success, we look to the future with optimism and determination. We remain committed to the pursuit of operational excellence and innovation. We will continue to explore new growth opportunities while strengthening our partnership with the community.
